Pacific Rim Rumble: 2026 Official Series Rules & Regulations
1. Administrative
To be eligible for each event:
Waivers and Release: All riders, crew members, and volunteers must sign an approved "Release and Waiver of Liability" at registration for every individual event.
Mandatory Rider Meeting: Every event will begin with a mandatory safety briefing; failure to attend may result in disqualification for that round.
Technical Inspection: Specific to the events, motorcycles may be required to pass a safety inspection (scrutineering) for fluid leaks, throttle return, and braking integrity before entering the course.
Safety Gear: All racers must wear a full-face helmet, motorcycle-specific boots, gloves, and abrasion-resistant apparel during all active sessions.
Race Specific Rules: Each of the race events will have its own event rules and regulations governing the event, that will not conflict with the series to add greater specificity to the event.
2. Series Championship Eligibility
Minimum Participation: A racer must start at least two different events to be scored for the overall Series Championship.
One-Race Participation: If a racer only competes in a single event, they may receive an individual trophy for that race, but their points will not count toward the season standings.
The "Evaporation" Rule: If a rider wins a race (1st Place) but never competes in the series again, their points are removed from the season tally.
Standings Integrity: The removal of a "One-Race Wonder's" points does not bump other riders up in position; riders keep the points for the position they earned on the track.
Machine Flexibility: Riders may use a different, race-specific motorcycle for each event or the same machine throughout, provided it meets the technical requirements for each specific race format.
3. Individual Scoring System
The series uses a consistent system to identify the best all-around rider.
Participation Points: Every rider who shows up, starts, and finishes a race earns +5 Participation Points added to their base finishing points.
Base Points: Points are awarded based on finishing position, with 25 points for 1st place.
The "Iron Man" Bonus: Solo riders in the Iron Man classes for the Dusk Till Dawn and Bol D’Oregon events earn an additional +10 Points.
Iron Man Scoring Example: A 1st Place Iron Man finish earns 25 (Base) + 10 (Iron Bonus) + 5 (Participation) = 40 Total Points.
One Bike to Rule them all!: Any racer that enters each events with the same motorcycle and finishes each race will be awarded an additional 30 Point
Motorcycle must have the same motor and chassis for each event, however the wheels and tires may change based on the event needs.
4. Team Racing (The "Captain's Clause")
For events requiring multiple riders, scoring is managed to maintain fairness:
Individual Scoring: Every rider on a winning team receives the full 1st Place points toward their individual series total.
No Stacking: Teammates cannot combine or "stack" points; a win remains worth 30 points whether achieved alone or with a team.
Non-Transferable: Points stay with the rider who earned them and cannot be donated or transferred to another competitor.
5. The Club Cup (Team Championship)
The Club Cup rewards the strongest and most reliable Motorcycle Club in the Pacific Northwest.
Club Eligibility: Any recognized club may compete, but they must declare their roster before the first event.
Roster Stability: Clubs cannot add members mid-season to inflate their scores.
Club Points (Turnout): Clubs earn +1 Point for every declared member who starts a race.
Club Points (Reliability): Clubs earn +10 Points for every declared member who finishes a race (no DNF).
Podium Bonus: The club earns a +5 Point bonus if a member finishes in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.
6. Prohibited Items & Final Authority
No Helmet Attachments: To ensure helmet structural integrity, no lights or cameras may be attached to any part of a rider's helmet.
Race Director: A designated Race Director will be on-site at every event to answer questions and make final decisions on race outcomes.
Tie-Breaker Hierarchy: Season-end ties for the "Overall Crown" will be broken by:
Highest number of Iron Man class entries.
